CEAC is not based on disconnecting communities from the internet. It adds local compute and storage to a resilient access network while retaining upstream connectivity for services and workloads that need it.
Design for real household demand
Ofcom reported average fixed-broadband use of 583 GB per connection per month in July 2025 and 738 GB for full-fibre connections.

Peak-hour demand, concurrency and service quality determine the final backhaul requirement.
The network architecture considers peak demand, concurrency, latency, traffic mix, household fairness and resilient upstream connectivity.

Keep local traffic local where it makes sense
If a useful AI task can execute on the CEAC beside the users and data requesting it, the result may not need to travel through distant cloud infrastructure.
Local execution can reduce the distance some workloads and data need to travel. CEAC telemetry is designed to measure the resulting network traffic, latency and energy behaviour.
Future federation: Smart Atom
